COMEDK - Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka is the association of Private Medical & Dental Colleges in Karnataka. COMEDK offers effective, fair and objective testing services to determine merit of students who are willing to take admissions in the Member Institutions of COMEDK.

The very purpose of the COMEDK is

1. To enlist the participation of institutions and communicate the process effectively to the students & parents by implementing a consensus model.
2. To ensure adequate communication and cooperation between Member Institutions for effective sharing of resources towards enhancing the quality of teaching-training system.
3. Pooling of resources for effecting the cost reduction of education.
4. To ensure student-friendly protocols in admissions based on merit and maintaining transparency

PGET (Post Graduate entrance Test) is conducted by COMEDK every year for admission in various post graduate medical course in Karnataka Medical and Dental Colleges.

COMEDK entrance test is mandatory requirement for admissions into the Post Graduate courses of COMEDK Member Institutions.

COMEDK member institutions offers post graduate degree and post graduate diplomas in different disciplines. Post graduate degree is a three year full time and post graduate diploma is a two year part time programme.

Eligibility requirements for taking admission into post graduate degree and diploma courses of COMEDK institutions is MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) / BDS (Bachelor of Dental Sciences) from an institute recognised by MCI (Medical Council of India) / DCI (Dental Council of India)

Applicants must meet all the requirements stipulated by MCI / DCI. Accordingly, they should have successfully passed their M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. from an institute recognised by MCI / DCI, and must have completed / completing their internship by April of the year of entrance examination.

Every student, selected for admission to the Post Graduate medical / dental course in any of the medical / dental institutions in the country, shall possess recognized M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. degree or equivalent qualification and should have obtained permanent registration with the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India, or any of the State Medical / Dental Council or should obtain the same with in one month from the date of the admission, failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled.

Provided that in the case of a foreign national, the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India may, on payment of the prescribed fee for the registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the Post Graduate training restricted to the college / institute to which the applicant is admitted for the time being exclusively for Post Graduate studies; Provided further, that temporary registration to such foreign national shall be subjected to the condition that such person is duly registered as medical practitioner in his own country from which the applicant has obtained his / her basic medical / dental qualification and that his / her degree is recognized by the corresponding medical Council or concerned authority.

As per the regulations of statutory bodies, as laid out in Post Graduate Regulation 2000 of Medical Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the entrance test for eligibility for admission to Post Graduate Courses shall be 50 percent for general category candidates and 40 percent for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes.

Rank list will be prepared only for those students who are qualified / eligible for admission to Post Graduate Courses as per the Medical Council of India as well as Dental Council of India Regulations.

PGET consists of only one test for all Medical and Dental Courses respectively. The test contains 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to be answered in 180 minutes.

Syllabus for the Post Graduate Medical / Dental entrance test is based on the M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. syllabus as prescribed by MCI / DCI, respectively. The number of questions related to each subject in COMEDK PGET is approximately as mentioned below:
