All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) is held for the candidates seeking admission to Engineering, Architecture, Planning and Pharmacy degree courses in different engineering colleges and institutes in India. The exam is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and Department of Secondary & Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in compliance with the directives of the Government of India (GOI). A centralized counselling system is provided for filling up the available seats all over India. This counselling is available only for the candidates who stand in merit of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). The main programs for which the AIEEE is carried out are:-
Nationality: Only Indian nationals are eligible to appear in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination. Age Limit: The candidates whose age lies between 16-24 years of age on the first day of October of the year of examination. Schedule cast (SC), schedule tribe (ST) and physically handicapped (PH) candidates has been given 5 years of relaxation in the upper age limit. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate is considered as authentic. Language of the Question Papers: Candidates can opt for All India Engineering Entrance Examination question paper either in English or in Hindi. The option has to be selected while filling the Application Form. Scoring & Negative Marking. It should be noted for the candidates that for each incorrect response, one third of the total marks allotted to the question would be deducted. No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if no response is indicated for an item in the answer sheet. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked. All objective type questions are required to be answered on specially designed machine gradable answer sheets.
