Entrance Test
Combined Engineering Entrance (CEE) is conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination Kerala.
The office conducts this examination under the name of Kerala Engineering, Agricultural and Medical (KEAM) Entrance Examination. The students willing to earn a degree in engineering / agriculture / medical / architecture take this examination, in general.
KEAM contains a wide no. of subjects, but students have to take the subject of their choice as per requirement and eligibility criteria. The students wants to earn a B.Tech / B.Arch. / B.Pharm. degree has to choose the test subject of their choice as per requirement and eligibility criteria. Admission to different engineering / technological disciplines is made on the basis of merit ranking of the candidate in the Combined Engineering Entrance (CEE) Kerala.
Eligibility
Nationality
Only Indian nationals are eligible for admission to Engineering / Architecture courses. Holders of Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) Cards, who have studied / are studying in educational institutions in Kerala from Class VIII to Class XII will also be treated on a par with Indian citizens for the limited purpose of Admissions.
Educational Qualification
Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Computer Science / Biology are eligible for admission to Engineering courses
Candidates who have a Diploma in Engineering awarded by the Board of Technical Examinations, or an examination recognized equivalent thereto, by the State Board of Technical Education after undergoing an institutional course of at least 3 years, securing a minimum of 50% marks in the final Diploma Examination are eligible for admission.
Note :
Diploma in Engineering is not recognised as the academic eligibility for admission to the Engineering Colleges affiliated to Agricultural University.
The Vocational Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, has been recognised as equivalent to the Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala.
Architecture course
(a) Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination with Physics & Mathematics and Chemistry / Engineering Drawing / Computer Science / Biology are eligible for admission to Architecture course.
b) Candidates who have a Diploma in Engineering awarded by the Board of Technical Examinations, or an examination recognized equivalent thereto, by the State Board of Technical Education after undergoing aninstitutional course of at least 3 years, securing a minimum of 50% marks in the final Diploma Examination are eligible for admission.
Relaxation in Marks
Relaxation in Marks criteria is available for all the courses, except those for which a pass in the qualifying examination is the academic eligibility. Such relaxation is available for those candidates who belongs to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes.
Test Pattern
- Papers for the Engineering Entrance Examination
- Paper I - Physics & Chemistry
- Paper II – Mathematics
- Papers for the Aptitude test in Architecture
- Paper I – Aesthetic Sensitivity
- Paper II – Drawing
The duration of each paper is 2 hours.
Examination Papers for B. Pharm. Courses
Candidates who have applied for the Engineering Entrance Examination and who wish to be considered for admission to B.Pharm. course only in addition to the Engineering Courses should attend ‘Paper I Chemistry & Physics’ of the Medical Entrance Examination, in addition to the Engineering Entrance Examination.
Such candidates need not to appear for Paper II-Biology of the Medical Entrance Examination and they will not be considered for admission to any other Medical / Agricultural courses.
Examination Papers for Agricultural Courses
Candidates desirous of obtaining admission to the Agricultural courses, except B.Tech. (Ag.Engg), BSc.(DSc & Tech), will have to write Paper I-Chemistry & Physics and Paper II-Biology of Medical Entrance Examination. For being considered for B.Tech (Ag. Engg.) and B.Tech. (D.Sc. & Tech.) they have to appear for Paper I-Physics & Chemistry and Paper II-Mathematics of Engineering Entrance Examination.
Candidates desirous of being considered for admission to the Architecture Course will have to appear for both papers of the Aptitude test in Architecture and become eligible for inclusion in the rank list for admission to Architecture course.
Examination Papers for Engineering Courses
Candidates who wish to be considered ONLY for Engineering courses [including B.Tech (Ag. Engg.) and B.Tech (D.Sc. & Tech.) under the Kerala Agricultural University], will have to write Paper I-Physics & Chemistry and Paper-II Mathematics of the Engineering Entrance Examination.
Candidates included in the Engineering rank list will not be considered for admission to B.Arch. course based on their Engineering rank.
